Inclusion in Art is dedicated to promoting racial and cultural diversity in Oklahoma’s visual arts community. Through exhibitions, workshops, creative projects and lectures, Inclusion in Art continues to support artists of color find the resources available to assist them with their artistic endeavors. We are also dedicated to connecting communities through socially conscious presentations that challenge the mind and embrace progressive thought.

The CONNECT is Inclusion in Art’s database of working professional artists of color. Outreach to minority artists has been difficult despite the best efforts of organizations. By providing a centralized database we are helping organizations find these artists and connect with them! Here’s a small preview:

Featured Artist Page


Inclusion in Art will begin maintaining a dedicated page on their website for a featured Oklahoma visual artist of color beginning in January 2018. This page will serve as a virtual gallery for the selected artist that will include 5 – 10 samples of the artist’s most recent work and statements from the artist. Inclusion in Art will promote the displayed work via social media and through their website. Artist’s will be selected quarterly. Our goal is to give Oklahoma artists of color another opportunity to promote and share their work outside of a physical gallery space. We encourage artists of color at all stages of their careers to apply.

Deadline to apply for the 1st quarter is 1/12/2018. There is no fee to apply.

VisionMakers 2018

VisionMakers2018 is 108|Contemporary’s signature juried biennial exhibition for contemporary fine craft-based artists in Oklahoma, Arkansas, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, New Mexico, and Texas. 108|Contemporary seeks artists who bridge cutting-edge concepts and traditional skills as they approach the boundaries of art, craft and design. With an internationally recognized juror and $5,000 in artist awards, VisionMakers2018 will be displayed in the architecturally stunning five-year-old 108|Contemporary gallery in the Tulsa Arts District. VisionMakers2018 opens Friday, October 5, 2018 and runs through November 25, 2018.

2018 Steamroller Print Festival

All are welcome to join [Artspace] on Saturday, April 28th from 10am-6pm for a free printmaking festival in the Deep Deuce district of Oklahoma City. Local and regional artists are invited to participate in the main attraction of the festival and print their woodblocks with a steamroller festival on the day of the event! In addition, artists are encouraged to submit their work for this year’s woodblock exhibition in our gallery space which will open with a reception on Thursday, April 26th from 5-8pm.
